We can’t believe it – OHOV board members have just released the 6th edition of VOICE magazine!

VOICE is a magazine for children and young people to read while they’re in the waiting room before attending a Hearing. It is designed and written for children, by young people with experience of Hearings.

Here’s why OHOV members did this – they said that Hearings can often be stressful and that many young people go into Hearings feeling anxious and not knowing their rights. VOICE magazine addresses that by aiming to:

  • Provide distraction and relaxation for young people before a hearing
  • Give young people important information about their rights, and about what to expect in a Hearing
  • Make links across other organisations who work with young people
  • Reach out to young people across the country, letting them know they’re not alone.

You can read more about how this has evolved on our website.

Voice Magazine Issue 6

Issue six is packed with engaging content designed to entertain, inform, and uplift children and young people attending their Children’s Hearings.

Readers will find an article about rights in the Children’s Hearings System, a World Cup themed quiz, easy recipes, advice and resources to help young people with care experience in further education, mindfulness colouring in, crafting ideas and much more. You can even find out a bit about board members’ own beloved pets and the movies they enjoy.

As with all editions of VOICE, we are always looking for contributions from children, young people and adults that support them. Plus give a chance for young people to get involved with the changes to Hearings. There is information about how to get involved with OHOV in every edition.

Please look at our new edition and let us know what you think.
