Projects ...

What partners need to know

The Board Members have recently begun working on a range of projects and we are excited to be receiving a number of other requests from organisations and individuals keen to work with Our Hearings, Our Voice.   This is fantastic news and the young people are enjoying the projects so far. However, to ensure we have a consistent approach, and that the young people are supported appropriately and not over-burdened, we have put the following guidance into place.   This is based on the model of the CAFCASS Family Justice Young People’s Board.

Our Hearings, Our Voice Projects Process

01.

Partners and organisations submit all requests to the OHOV Project Lead with proposals for projects/short term pieces of work – e.g. creating resources for children and young people, involvement in recruitment, action research, co-designing and delivering training, policy planning, inspections etc.

02.

The OHOV Team forward project opportunities to all Board Members.

03.

Board Members choose which projects they want to be involved in.

04.

The OHOV Team ensure fair and manageable distribution of projects to all Board Members

05.

OHOV Team support (and train where required) Board Members to carry out projects.

06.

Partners and organisations should provide feedback to the OHOV Team for Board Members, to ensure they know what impact their input has had.

07.

Where appropriate, Board Members will provide feedback in the form of verbal feedback, short reports and recommendations to partners.

08.

Please note – Projects are over and above Board Meetings so will be dependent on the Board Members/OHOV Team’s capacity. Once fully defined, project requests that fit with the Board’s priorities for change will be given priority.

“We appreciate your support with this approach as it will ensure that all Board Members have equity of opportunity to carry out a wide range of projects.”
