It was a real privilege to have the opportunity to continue our exciting collaboration with the magic young board members & the Verbatim Formula crew. The exhibition at the Scottish Parliament in November was an exceptional event, so I am delighted some of the energy and magic from that can go out into community spaces all over Scotland. I think the resulting Zine represents a celebration of the creativity & talents of both the board members and Digital Media and Interactive (DMID) students, Eli Sinclair-McNally and Matt Kranicz who thoughtfully and sensitively brought to life the young people’s creative ideas in a digital form.

I particularly like the addition of the augmented reality pieces which embrace the power and elegance of Verbatim Formula for amplifying personal voices while protecting confidentiality. These, alongside The Call to Action pages, represent a powerful message for corporate parents and adults involved in the Children’s Hearings System to enact their available agency for change, by encouraging them to listen with their hearts.

These creative collaborations have inspired me and some recent graduates of the DMID programme to establish a creative agency, with a mission of creating more opportunities for care experienced young people to engage with the arts and technology.
